Choir 6-8 is an outside of timetable course, meeting before school twice a week. It is open to all students at Dunsmuir in grades 6-8. There is no audition required to be a part of Choir.
Directed by Mr. Duque-Park, this course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of singing and to the study of music. Students will develop their skills through music reading, the understanding of musical terminology, and the performance of music in individual and group settings.
Students will sing a variety of unison (1-part), two-part, sacred, secular, a cappella, jazz, and popular music.
Students will take part in at least three performances per year and students in Choir will have the opportunity to join the Spring Tour.
